Four girls who performed and sang incredibly well during their time at Star for a Night 2017, were awarded a prize to record at a professional recording studio in Guildford. The organisrs and producers were extremely impressed with the balance of the voices between the four girls, whose ages ranged from 14 - 16.
Th Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance produced the show this year, and gave out a few prizes to potential pupils. Cara, Chloe, Katie and Paige (who between them attend St Bedes and Reigate School), recorded their chosen at Masterlink Productions Studios in Send, Surrey.
Star for a Night is a Reigate and Banstead run activity that allows young people to study the performing arts - dance, act and sing, and perform at the Harlequin Theatre Redhill after 1 term of free tuition.
Gareth Jones, the Musical Director for Star for a Night was impressed not only by the blending of their voices but also their commitment and professionalism during rehearsals. "we couldn't split them and decide on one winner, so we gave it to all for of them - they totally deserve it".
RSB Dance Schools are the leading dance and performing arts schools in the area and the most established by far, offering ballet, tap, commercial street and hip-hop, dance acro, modern, musical theatre and adult dance and fitness classes throughout the week.
The girls really enjoyed the experience and I would really like to thank James Welch the recording engineer on their behalf. Most of the girls will now be attending the Reigate School of Ballet's Musical Theatre department - Starlight Performing Arts to continue developing their skills.
